Manchester Club Academy – Thursday 15th May
Support – Twin Atlantic – Envy On The Coast

Twin Atlantic: Alternative / Rock / Powerpop four piece from Glasgow, Scotland. A band just beginning to make a name for themselves outside of the Scottish borders sure proved they had what it takes tonight. With a mix of energetic rock storming across the stage through to a mellow acoustic song mid-set, you could forgive their arrogance towards the crowd. This is a band on the rise.

Envy On The Coast really warmed up the crowd, gripping the attention of almost the entire venue as they took to the stage as if they were headlining the tour. Playing songs from their latest album which isn’t actually available in the UK, they can be happy with the knowledge that they have just gained themselves a crowd of new fans all demanding them to return to the UK in the non-too-distant future.

Finch took to the stage already full to the brim of alcohol but demanding more. Countless cups of beer spilled through the air towards the stage and when Nate demanded he wanted a pizza, a few phones could be seen dialling numbers. But if anything, this added to the electric atmosphere contained inside this small basement bar. With the moshpit in constant flow, or more like battle, Finch reeled off song after song with no complaints. Nate paced around the stage with more energy than their biggest fan on the front row and Randy took advantage of the barrier by throwing himself into the crowd on more than one occasion. It was obvious songs from their "What It Is To Burn" album went down a lot better than those from "Say Hello To Sunshine", a mid-set poll proved that, but the two new songs played created a mixed reaction from the crowd. Ending with the epic "What It Is To Burn", Finch left the stage and an extremely satisfied crowd. This was the comeback that everyone had been waiting for.
