I was very very excited to do this interview, as I am a super huge fan of Aiden, and I was not even a little bit shocked that, when asked to do an interview with us, Angel replied with "yea I'll do it <3" As most of you know, Aiden used to be a 5 piece band out of Seattle, Washington, and went through a major sound change, a member change (well not really a change, just parting ways with Jake W.) and some other things that would have broken some of the less strong bands down and made them quit what they love so much. Not Aiden. Aiden simply replies with "You like us or you don't." I think that's part of their charm, not to mention they are amazing people. I've met them every time I've gone to see them and they're nothing but nice to me. If you haven't already heard Aiden, you should definately get on that, because they are amazing. Tell us the brief history of your band.
jake d and i started it and then everyone else we met through mutual friends.
How would you describe your music to people?
passionate.
Describe your show, visually and musically.
our shows are very intense and energetic, but also fun and lighthearted.
What's your claim to fame?
fame? hah no
Why do you do what you do?
i do what i do because i love music and playing guitar, but also because ive always wanted to have a job where i helped people and this is definitly that.
Tell us a story about a day in your life.
at home i wake up and hang out all day with friends.. on tour i wake up hang out all day play a show and then sleep hah its awesome.
What is your song writing process like?
someone will come to band practice with an idea and then we all work on it.
Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
musical i love the foo fighters, the police, the red hot chilli peppers, the cure, blink 182, mxpx, nofx non musical i read alot of books.. im a big chuck palahniuk fan.
What do you think about downloading music online, outside of iTunes?
its cool in some ways cause kids who cant afford it can hear it .. but it also hurts bands ..
What's your outlook on the record industry today?
its not what it used to be .. its definitly not as lucrative of a business as it used to be.
What advice would you give to fellow bands?
practice practice practice

How does music affect you and the world around you?
music allows me to express myself and do things that ive always wanted to do.
What's the best and worst thing about playing clubs?
nothing

What's the craziest rumor you've ever heard about yourself or your band?
that i was becomming a priest hah
what's the story behind your band name?
our drummer came up with it he got the idea from the movie the ring.
what were you like in high school?
super shy and not very confident.. kinda quiet

where is your favorite place to play?
anywhere .. i love seeing the world.

both good and bad actually ..

homer simpson.. he cracks me up im a huge simpsons fan

ninja turtles .. i was always donatello
My all time favorite song is "Silent Eyes". What was the inspiration for
it?
the inspiration for that song came from the death of our friend john beatz
What inspired the major change from Nightmare Anatomy to Conviction?
our lives did .. basically we were in a different place then when we did nightmare.. we started writting and thats what came out .. we love it.
My mom loves your cover of "White Wedding". She says you sound exactly like Billy Idol. Is that flattering? Did you ever expect to hear something like that?

Where do you see yourself and your band in 5 and 10 years?
hopefully still putting out records and touring and being able to have a decent house and maybe a girlfriend hah
You just recently parted ways with Jake W, how is this going to effect things?
its still gunna be aiden no matter what
