Before hearing 'Brain Trust Mastery' I had not heard anything from We Are Scientists; so I had no idea what to expect with this album. I heard amazing things about it, but it failed to meet my expectations. Now, I wasn't expecting an epic, mind blowing album, but I though it would be more than it was. It sounds somewhat like a last ditch effort to get something out there. The songs are produced well, but they just seem to run out of steam not even half way through to album. Overall, it was mediocre; I was a little disappointed actually. It was boring and monotone; bland would be the word. It is missing that ‘wow factor’ and there is nothing exciting to it. After hearing one or two songs they all blended into one, ‘After Hours’ is probably the only song I really enjoyed. Its really just an average pop rock album.
