A brief history of from first to last, lets start from first to last. In 2003 the band recorded EP Aesthetic with vocalist Philip Reardon, then came 2004 realise of Dear Diary My Teenage Angst Has A Body Count with new vocalist Sonny Moore, record number three comes along; Heroin, realized in 06, and in the year of 07 lead Sonny Moore leaves. Now here we are with their self titled offering. What can I say about this album? Its nothing short of a masterpiece for the band. Although FFTL have had a line up that’s changed more than your underwear, the band are back on top, and proving that life in a band without financial backing really can be a sweet one. The band have kept two major sounds from their previous records, the sugary sweet (with added spice) vocals of Matt Good, and the heavier metal sound that made Heroin such a hit. it’s the type of album you play that gets you in the mood to do SOMETHING. With hooky lyrics (the other side) reminiscent of an early U2, smooth; almost orgasmic, vocals from Good (tick tick tomorrow). This is sure to be an album that will have festivals this summer singing along to every word.
Tracks to look out for: The other side, Two as One, We All Turn Back to Dust, A Perfect Mess
